Win a Spot in My Four Week Elements Workshop

by Erin on March 1, 2013 · 75 comments

Have any of you signed up for my Elements workshop at Clickin Moms yet?  If you’d like to learn how to edit photos like this before and after, you should!

The Clickin Moms Photoshop Elements workshop is an online, forum-based workshop that last four weeks.  Each week, you will receive a hefty PDF full of the week’s course material, plus videos to support it.  You will also have a comprehensive homework assignment to turn in by the end of the week.

If you sign up as a full participant, I will give you detailed feedback on that homework, and answer any questions you post in our private forum!

You’ll receive about 150 pages worth of information and nearly 3 hours in videos.

Here’s what attendees from the last workshop said:

This course was amazing!  I can’t believe how much I learned!  Too many “light bulb” and “AH-HA” moments to count!  Erin’s lessons were extremely organized and detailed.  It’s crazy how much information she packed in 4 weeks!  I plan to keep re-doing the lessons over the winter.

Wish I would have known about this course sooner.  I was hesitant about the cost, but the other reviews were right, it’s worth every penny!

“Dear Erin
thank you very much for this course. I had a lot of light bulb moments…..”

You have the option to register as a full participant in this workshop for $300, which includes the ability to ask questions, turn in homework and receive my feedback on the homework.

There is also a $150 study along option – if you sign up for this, you get the course materials and read-only access to the forum.  You can read questions that full participants post and my answers to them, and you can read my feedback on their homework.  You aren’t, however, able to ask questions or submit your homework for feedback.

Would you like to win a full participation spot in this workshop?

Dive deep into your photos.  Find the one that is closest to your heart.  Your most favorite.  The one that would be most perfect, if only you knew how to edit it.  That is the only requirement for this image you are going to choose – it needs to have something wrong with it that you’d like to correct in PSE.

In the comments below, tell me where I can see this photo and tell me exactly what you want to learn from the class to improve it, perfect it, and make it frameworthy!

Your answer needs to be detailed.  Something like “I’d like to lighten my daughter’s face and remove the weird splotch of color on her skin and improve the skin tone” is a winning entry.  The more details, the better, so that I can tell exactly what you’d like to learn about Elements.

I will choose the photo whose owner needs to learn Elements the most and knows exactly why and what she wants out of it.  Make sure to post a link in the comments and tell me where I can see this photo!

Linking to the photo on Flickr is probably the easiest idea.  If you’d like to post it on my Facebook wall, post a comment below so that I will know to look for it there.  You can also email me your photo at erin@texaschicksblogsandpics.com.  All entries will be gathered based on the comments below – for yours to be counted, you must leave a comment on this post.

Space is limited for both full participants and study alongs and many workshops at Clickin Moms sell out.  Register early, and if you win this contest, you will receive a refund on your registration.

Are you ready?  I can’t wait to see your images!  The contest winner will be notified next Friday, March 8.  All entries are due by 11:59 PM CST Thursday, March 7.

Erin, do you have plans to offer this in the summer months?

Thanks, Colleen

Erin March 1, 2013 at 10:18 am

Hi Colleen. Yes, I do think we will offer the class again over the summer. Thanks!

Nancy March 1, 2013 at 9:33 am

I don’t have a specific picture in mind. I lost my father in January, and I have so many pictures of him with my 2 daughters that are “good”, but really need something to make them pop. I would love to be able to put together an album for my mom of dad and the girls for Christmas, but I want the book to be full of beautiful pictures, not just so-so ones.

An example would be http://2chinamiracles.smugmug.com/Adoption/Jessicas-adoption-trip-2002/4532057_3r8Xdh#!i=266907279&k=gXtDjvk&lb=1&s=A

I would like to sharpen the picture, even out the shadows, warm up the picture a bit. I have so many online albums of these types of pictures that I am just paralyzed in knowing how to “fix” them. I also want to be able to put together really great albums of pictures from the adoption trips of both my girls so they have tangible “memories” of where they are from and the miracle that brought us all together as a family. Their Popaw (my father) was their best buddy, and they miss him so much. To be able to provide them with albums showing how much he loved them from the very start – wow…..I just can’t tell you how much that would mean.

Hi! I entered your contest to win a spot in Elements 101 class. I posted my picture on your facebook page. This is my most prized picture because it’s one of the very few with my dear grandmother and newborn son. She came to stay with us when he was 2 weeks old from NC (we were in Delaware at the time) and was a total lifesaver. She has always been the one closest to my heart so it was perfect to have her there. Little did we know, she had terminal cancer and would die a few short months later. I have so few pictures of them together and, like this one, they are dark. I would love to learn how to lighten and sharpen this image. I would also like to remove the bright light glare behind my grandmother. Thank you for your help and consideration!!

Carla Wells March 1, 2013 at 9:49 am

I am going to email you my photo. I love the pose she is in, but the lighting in this location was terrible so the color is off and it needs to be lightened. She has blotchy skin on her face, some marks from the diaper on her bum, as well as some diaper rash. The wrinkles in the backdrop drive me crazy too! I’ve tried editing this photo before but it ends up just looking over-done and unnatural. :(
Thank you so much for considering my photo!

I would love this photo if I knew how to make the subject really pop from the background, if I knew how to enhance the colors in the picture and remove the yellow caste, if I knew how to remove the shadow on the left side (our right) of the subjects face and if I knew how to remove the dark under eye shadows.

Hope this is specific enough…this class sounds amazing!!

Michelle Norgard March 1, 2013 at 10:25 am

Good morning! I love the idea of evaluating who needs help and choosing the winner from there. Elements is the bane of my existence and entirely frustrating to the point that I won’t even open it anymore! I will send my information to you via email this weekend. So exciting!

Erin March 2, 2013 at 11:19 am

Looking forward to it, Michelle! A lot of people feel the way you do. Maybe we should call the class “eliminating the bane of your existence!”

Kelli Mitchell March 1, 2013 at 10:44 am

Sounds amazing! Would love to win a seat!!

Katie March 1, 2013 at 12:11 pm

What an amazing gift this is! Thank you for offering us this chance.

This is a photo of my daughter taken a month ago at a local beach. It’s a face she makes when she’s suprised (or about to go wild!) and I’m so glad I captured it! I’d love to learn how to lighten/brighten it up without looking blown out, to make her eyes stand out a bit but not look unnatural, to see if there’s a way to take some of the texture away from the sand in the background so she stands out more, to get rid of the red splotch on her nose and to remove those stray hairs over her eye.

Carol March 1, 2013 at 12:30 pm

I am going to email you my picture. I would LOVE to learn how to use PSE 11. It is on my computer but I haven’t figured out how to use it yet.

Isha March 1, 2013 at 12:49 pm

Hey! I’ve been following your blog since I was pregnant in 2011 and wanted to learn more about child photography and photography overall.
I will email you my picture.
I wanted to capture the two generations that are my world in that picture, it is my grandmother (81) who is visiting from overseas and my baby girl (9 months), and create a memory for my little girl for the future.
I like how both have a natural smile, but the lightning is terrible, I think. Also, I didn’t notice one of my baby’s room wall stickers is showing in a corner, and overall the background is kind of… blah… I just want to bring the picture alive and bring out and fix my girl’s and my grandma’s skin tone! Right now it’s very plain to me.
Thank you for giving this chance to win one of your classes!!

Kathy Simkins March 1, 2013 at 1:15 pm

I have many old family history photos that I would love to learn how to enhance with PSE. I so need to win your class. As a grandmother of 10 I am so behind in adjusting the tons of photos that I have. Thanks for the opportunity to enter this contest.

Adriane March 1, 2013 at 1:59 pm

Hi erin,
I emailed my photo to you. I love this picture because the expression on my daughters face is just pure, light-hearted joy. We were in Hawaii a month ago and she was having the time of her life. This picture captures her mood and brings back all the wonderful memories we made. What bothers me most is the shadow across half of her face. I’ve tried, in PSE, to adjust the levels, but I either end up with the shadowed part looking fake and processed or the whole picture looking over-exposed or over-highlighted. I’ve also tried using the selector tool too grab just the shadowed part of her face and adjust the color on only that part, but then I’m left with two mis-matched skin tones of her face. I would also like to adjust the overall lighting and warmth of the picture. it seems to have a bluish tint to the whole picture, leaving it feeling somewhat cold, and Hawaii was so warm and soothing, i dont feel like the current color cast reflects that feel. I’m just starting to understand layers and I have a feeling if I can learn how to use layers correctly I can get the skin tone even and uniform across her whole face. PSE has so many optioins that I’ve seen others use to correct lighting in their own photographs, but I just can’t seem to replicate the adjustments in my own photos.
Thanks for your consideration

Lacey B. March 1, 2013 at 2:22 pm

Thank you so much for this opportunity Erin.

I edit solely in Lightroom and would love to learn about PSE. I own it, but never use it. My biggest thing I would like to learn is cloning. I see so many photographers talk about cloning out items in an image, but I have no idea how in PSE and would really like to learn. The image I have chosen to share had a picture hanging on the wall that I attempted to clone out in Lightroom. As you can tell, it was a big fat fail. I also would like to learn about layers and how to properly use them to achieve a nice clean edit. I honestly don’t know where to begin to edit an image in PSE.

Lee Ann De Rycke March 1, 2013 at 2:26 pm

I have posted a picture on your facebook page for a chance to win a spot in your workshop. I hope I did it right. my facebook name is Leeannandyrhi De Rycke and this picture is one of my youngest daughter I took on our cruise just this past December. I have PSE 7 and 9. you may notify me of anything by email.

Karen Lord March 1, 2013 at 2:33 pm

I have been an Elements user for years but I still struggle with skin tones. Would love to win a seat in the CM workshop and once an for all learn how to get great skin tones in PSE.

Jen S March 1, 2013 at 2:45 pm

Hi Erin,
I emailed you my favorite picture. It is of my daughter and husband. It was taken on a bright sunny day and I just love both of their smiles. The reason I chose this picture is I would love to learn how to edit it so I can remove some of the shadows and not have it so over exposed. I’d also like to even out skin tones so it isn’t so dramatic between my daughter and my husband. I have PSE 11 and want to learn how to make my pictures “pop”!

I’m so excited about this giveaway! This is a photo ( the Raw SOOC image) that I love. Well, I could love it except it is so very over exposed! I know how to darken the image, but I don’t know how to darken the background, or clean it up without also effecting the subjects! The people look great, but the background looks horrible! How can I edit one part and not the other?

Keeping my fingers crossed!!! Thanks for such a great opportunity!

Kate B. March 1, 2013 at 3:12 pm

This would be FABULOUS, I just got Elements for Christmas!
I LOVE this photo of my kids, it shows just how much they really do like each other, but I took the photo directly into the sun and the background is completely blown out. I’d like to lighten so that you saw my daughters face a little clearer. I’d also like to make them a little more focused (possibly leaving some blur?)

Kathyann March 1, 2013 at 4:20 pm

I am sending you a picture of my granddaughter and her best friends. She has been carrying these guys with her for 4 years now. The problems I see are this photo is over exposed. She has a boo boo on her arm I would love to know how to remove. The dark under eye circles I would love to lighten those as well. She has dark eyes and I would love to see how to make them shine. I think it needs a little more color and a crop also. :-) I would love to learn how to do all of this in Elements. thank you for this opportunity.

Kathyann March 2, 2013 at 5:10 pm

Oh if I could edit my comment I would. If I could swap pictures this one is more on the line of what 99.9% of my shots look like. and this is after i have tried to edit. almost always underexposed the dark circles under her eyes, uneven skin tone, her dark eyes need a little pop etc…

Kathyann March 2, 2013 at 5:11 pm
Katie B. March 1, 2013 at 4:49 pm

Thanks so much for the generous offer! I am going to link you to a set of 3 pictures, because part of the editing is going to require some head swapping to get everyone looking at the camera. These pictures mean the world to me and my family because they ended up being the last pictures we took of my boys with their Grandpa, who passed away suddenly just a few months later. DS1 still talks about how Jesus is fixing Grandpa’s body and then we’ll be able to play games with him again soon in Heaven. I want to do the best I can to make this a beautiful image for us to help remember his time here with us on earth. I would like to fix it up to give to DH as a Father’s Day present and also to give to the boys so they will never forget him.

Things I need to fix include: adjusting exposure, lightening faces, adjusting white balance, head swaps so both boys are looking at the camera (DS1 will probably still be squinting due to weird arm position making it much harder to clone from boys-only picture, but at least he will be looking at the camera), lifting the under-eye shadows since it was such an overcast day, cloning out background distractions and stray hairs, straightening the picture for an even horizon line, fixing DS2′s horrible skin tone (I think it’s looking really green?), working on grass color and making foliage look prettier, add a little blue to the sky, and giving the picture some overall oomph to make the colors really pop.

I know the picture will never be 100% perfect, but I would like to make it into the best memory possible. :-) Thanks again!

Kelli March 1, 2013 at 5:57 pm

Hi Erin,
I sent the photo and a copy of this text to your email address with the subject line Teamhendrix for elements 101

My photo may not even be a contender because the file is pretty small and the quality is terrible since it’s a scanned photo, but I thought I’d take my chances since this photo has absolutely overwhelmed me for the past year. It’s the photo that my grandmother has framed in her living room and she says it’s her favorite photo of my late grandfather, but it’s the most wretched photo. On top of that, I had to scan it to get it into the computer and it has some weird lines down the front of it. The color is painful, the lighting is completely backwards and the image needs major repairs physically (read: lines down the face). So specifically, I need to work on color correction, physical removal of noise and other obstructions, specific lighting on the face without whiting out the background and balancing the contrast and tones. I’ll continue to work on this photo over time, but it really is the one that i keep coming back to in the hopes that I can make it look like it belongs in a frame in the living room. Thanks for considering!!!

Christine Lovelace March 1, 2013 at 6:00 pm

Hello,
I just emailed you my photo for the opportunity to win a spot in your photoshop elements 101.

Wendy March 1, 2013 at 6:31 pm

I posted a picture on facebook. It’s a picture of my son’s first steps! I will write about it on my facebook post. Thanks for this opportunity!

Melissia Waywell March 1, 2013 at 8:43 pm

I would love to get good pictures of my little guy. He is growing so fast and I really want to document how much he is growing and changing.

Jessica March 1, 2013 at 9:02 pm

I posted my picture to your Facebook wall; I’m Jessica Pence. It’s a family picture in front of a Christmas tree. I would like to lighten it (especially the faces) without it getting more grainy. The ISO is up pretty high. I also want to remove the cords in the background. And I think I want to crop it horizontally (which I know how to do), but if the top of the tree where the lights are out still shows, I want to see if it’s possible to fake some lights for it. My middle child (far right) is a bit out of focus; I’d like to sharpen her up a bit. This is the best shot I have of my whole family; I’d love to get it looking great!

Tessa Hall March 1, 2013 at 10:12 pm

Hi- thanks so much for this opportunity! I have been using PSE for about a year now, and your tips are always so helpful, so thanks again. Here’s my link to my photo of my daughter:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/91990619@N05/8519383111/in/photostream

I LOVE this photo of her – so innocent and happy! Obviously the sun flare created an issue for me. I’d love to learn how to correct those skin tones. And those on her face are different from those on her hands, so I’m guessing using layer masks for each…help! And the color of the grass seems a bit too neon – another layer mask? I’d also like to sharpen it a bit. I thought it might be nice in black & white too. So some help on how to adjust the colors and brighten and/or sharpen for black and white. I’d like to learn how to use numbers better for adjusting colors and skin tones for portraits like this one. Thanks a bunch! Cheers!

I posted this link on your facebook page as well with this post:
These 2 girls are the reason I wake up every morning! I love the story I captured here, but disappointed in the areas that I lack having the knowledge to properly shoot what I see. I am signed up for the Study Along portion of the Photoshop Elements workshop, but having full participation would be absolutely amazing. I am eager and excited to get the class started. This is the beginning of my heart singing a cheerful tune. I can’t wait to be able to create works of art for future clients, and having them fall in love with photography like I have. It literally brings tears to my eyes!

In this picture, I would like to know how to utilize the beautiful colors of the evening sun, but be able to get a natural skin tone. Also, I am still learning how to use my camera in full manual mode, so my youngest, Meredith, has a slightly blurry face, and I would love to know how to correct that.

Kristy Anne March 2, 2013 at 12:02 am

Hi,
Thanks for an awesome comp, the photo I have emailed the background is so bright it takes away from the beautiful image of my step daughter, I would love to know how to make her pop and to tone down the background.
Kristy :)

Sarah Addison March 2, 2013 at 4:56 am

Hi Erin,
Would so love to win a spot in this class! I will email a copy of my photo entry. It is of my now 6 month old son who was only 13 days at the time. I have come back to this image to re-edit a few times but I am never happy with the final result. The major issue I have is with his skin tone. It has a very yellow colour cast along with red blotchiness.
(like most newborns I guess) I find after I have tried to deal with the redness under his arm and the yellow he has on the shadows on his face I end up with a very unpleasant grey colour to his skin. The shadow on the left side of his head down to his eye looks SUPER yellow after being edited.
The other issue I found difficult was the dark red/purple shadows or circles under and around the eyes. I’m not sure how to even the tones herewitht he rest of the skin without losing the dimension to his features.
My fall back – B&W, then I am having an issue with a green colour cast in the shadows which I am finding in ALOT of my images lately and I have no idea what I have done to create this. Please Please HELP.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a place in this class. I would love to win
Sarah

Jennifer March 2, 2013 at 8:42 am

I’ve been working hard to try and improve my photography skills so I can capture amazing memories of my children. I feel like I’ve greatly improved, but I do not know how to use my editing software to make them dazzle. Right now, I’m completely in love with my little girl’s mischievous little smiles and her finally-growing-in shaggy hair. I’d love to make pictures like this one pop: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75813944@N06/8520390047/

I want to know how to make her gorgeous brown eyes stand out and how to play with her skin tone. I love the blur of the background, but I wish the stuff on the ottoman behind her (greens/purples to her right) weren’t there and I’m sure there’s a way to erase them but I don’t know the best way to do it. I’ve had PSE 6.0 for 4 years now, and I still don’t know more than the basic crop/resize. I have read tons…but I need that guidance and ‘hands on’ experience that I’m hoping to get from this course. Thank you for this chance to win your workshop!

Amy Schlesinger March 2, 2013 at 9:44 am

I sent my picture entry to your email address, thanks!

Adina March 2, 2013 at 12:38 pm

I am emailing you a photo that I’ve taken :)

Lindsey March 2, 2013 at 5:31 pm

I love this photo of my dog, but despite multiple attempts, I could not get the white balance right as our walls make everything appear yellow. I would like to be able to fix the white balance and maybe tone down the Christmas lights in the back (if that’s possible). I took Shooting 101 and now I’m ready to start learning how to process in Elements when I don’t get the shot I want.

Oh this is so fun! Thanks for the opportunity to win a seat, Erin! That is awesome! Here’s my submission:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/91053011@N07/8522823060/in/photostream
This photo is special to me because it shows the beautiful bond between my oldest and her little brother. They are separated by 15 years in age, but they are so close in heart. I love that I was able to capture this spontaneous moment between them! However it needs some help! Thankfully I have both the RAW file and the JPEG. I don’t know where to begin to process the RAW files, so I would LOVE to learn how to do that properly. In this picture, I would like to be able to change the WB and warm it up a bit. I would like to touch up my daughter’s skin a bit and remove the dark shadow under her eye. I also think that the line of the fence in the background is distracting and I wish I had changed my angle when taking the picture. So I would love to know how to edit that out and maybe make that area look like grass instead. Is that even possible?! It needs to be cropped so that they are centered, and I would like to learn how to use layers or is it masks? to make sure their skin tones are accurate. It would also be fun to learn how to add a pop of color to really make this image stand out. If I could learn to do these things, I would totally hang this one on my wall! And if you could teach me how to do these things, I would be so grateful! :-)

Natasha Korevaar March 2, 2013 at 6:17 pm

I would love to win a spot in this class! I am a new mom to a beautiful baby girl and just got PSE after she was born. Currently, I’m mostly just playing around with my photos without really knowing what I am doing. I want to be able to edit the thousands of pictures I take of her properly. I don’t want to rely on actions to do the work for me.

The photo I would absolutely love to fix and will use as my entry into this contest is a photo that my brother in law took on the night my husband and I got engaged. My husband wanted to surprise me by having a photo taken of him proposing without my knowledge and I cherish the picture dearly. It was such an incredible moment. But as you can see in the photo (which I will email to you), it needs a lot of help. My brother in law is certainly not a photographer but it was the thought that counts. I want to be able to blow this picture up and frame it in our home but it needs some serious help. The photo is very blurry and I have no idea how to even go about sharpening the photo. I know I will never make it perfectly clear but I would like to improve it. I would also like to learn how to use layers to properly lighten the skin tones in this picture. I would also like to learn how to remove the leaf from this photo that is taking away from the rest of the image. And finally, I want to be able to make the colours in the foreground more vivid without changing the beautiful natural colours of the water and the trees in the distance. I need to learn from an expert!

Thank you so much for this opportunity.

Tamara Kelly-Beckett March 2, 2013 at 7:49 pm

I have sent my submission to your e-mail address for a spot in elements 101 contest. you have. I would like to know how to get rid of that blue hue in the the snow, brighten up the photo, maybe get rid of the tree in the background? Not sure about the composition…thank you for your time.

Michelle B March 3, 2013 at 12:27 am

I was so excited that my son actually stood still for the camera and didn’t run away. This is the first full face shot I’ve been able to get without him making a silly face. Unfortunately, my settings were bad.
I’d like to lighten his face, remove the juice mustache (lol) and possibly fix his hair on the left side.

Dustie Fields March 3, 2013 at 12:48 am

I am going to email my picture. This picture is so special to me because I am always the one behind the camera, but finally my husband took one of my new baby girl and me together. I love that as I am adoring her she is staring right at me. However, there is so much that I would like to fix. First, the acne (thanks to the hormones). My eyes are instantly drawn to it. I hate that I focus on it rather than the moment we are sharing and I just can’t look past it!!! Also, the coloring. Our skin looks really yellow and the blankets don’t look so white. Also, the picture is dark and needs lightened up.
Thanks so much for the opportunity!

Audra Castle March 3, 2013 at 11:52 am

Hello, just wanted to give you a quick background about our photo business. My sister in-law actually takes the photos. When i met her, 5 years ago, she started taking photography classes. Recently, since I think her work is spectacular, I spent months and months teaching myself PSE, I have a chemistry degree, so graphic design is far from my expertise. I felt like, because of her profession, she is a nurse, she doesn’t have time to edit, nor did she want to learn. Hence the reason I decided to. I know there are so many things that I don’t know because I find myself learning something new everyday. I feel as though I struggle with skin tone, brightening an image, and making colors stand out with a deep rich effect that I am looking for. I have gone through actions, can’t find the one that works perfect, and truthfully, I want to learn to do it without the help of actions. The photo I am submitting is actually of my brother and his family.

I hate the skin tones, and think their faces are too dark, of course the white vignette around it is horrible, this is one of the first images I was trying to edit. The over all tonality of the the photo is no good. I want to learn to sharpen photos where they are subtle and not over sharpened. I struggle with eyes, making them look too fake, but I am getting better. I have read every tutorial known to man on removing shadows, can’t do it. It ends up looking funky and not natural at all! I know that photographers frown on other photographers that don’t do their own editing, but in this case, she does it as a hobby, but can’t find the time to refine the details. Her work is amazing and I want to grow to allow myself to be able to represent her art in a creative and beautiful way that it deserves to be.

I am going to email you the picture I would really love to edit. It is a nice picture of my father-in-law and mother-in-law just prior to the passing of my father-in-law. The background is completely distracting and I want to edit it out. I also would like to get rid of the shadows and the shiny spot on my MIL jacket. I would also like to do some facial edits to get rid of red eye, minimize the double chins, soften up the wrinkles and get rid of the shiny spots on the face. In other words practically edit everything! LOL

Hi Erin,
I am going to send my photo to your email. I am so excited about this giveaway. I have been really searching to find something that would teach me how to use photoshop elements to the best of my ability. When I saw that you were giving away a spot, I thought this is exactly what I have been looking for!!! Thanks for giving the opportunity to try to win a free spot.
My photo is of my oldest son when he was about 2. We were at my mother in laws house and we went out to see the baby calf that was born. I actually can’t believe I had my camera. I was going just to get a picture of the calf for my father in law. I never dreamed that the baby calf would let my son go anywhere near him. I couldn’t believe when the calf let my son touch his head. Of course, I was a nervous wreck and hurried up snapping away. I absolutely love the picture, but really want to know how to edit it correctly. I have tried but never really got the finished effect that I wanted. I would love to learn how to edit my sons skin tone. He looks washed out and too bright. His hand is also blurry. I would love to learn how to fix that. I would also love to make the colors pop and stand out! Another thing that I struggle with is learning how to fix harsh shadows. I am going to send my photo to your email.
Thanks so much!

Thanks for offering this Erin! I will email my picture to you. This is a picture of me and my late husband who died without any warning. I don’t have many pics of him and I together as I am the photographer and we had only been together for 9 years. This one looks like I sat the camera on a table and took a timed shot. It was taken with film and then scanned into my computer. The exposure is all off obviously as the camera exposed for the outdoor light. There are scratches and blemishes that need to be repaired. I’d love it if I could see his sky blue eyes. I think it needs to be cropped differently and tilted a bit. This is one of those instances where I should have taken more time because you never know how much time you’ll have to take another some day. Anyway…thanks again.

I would like to learn how to brighten his eyes a touch, remove the red splotchy part of the skin on his right cheek, and remove the ink stain from my husband’s pants. :)
