Use this method for sharpening photos in Photoshop Elements with a minimum of halos and noise:
- Run the Unsharp Mask using moderate settings
- Duplicate the Layer and apply the Unsharp Mask again, possibly with lower settings
- If some areas are being over-sharpened, apply a mask to the second Unsharp layer and apply sharpening only to areas that need it.
