Sharpening Use Adobe Camera Raw

by Erin on December 6, 2008

  • The Clarity Slider in Adobe Camera Raw makes slight contrast adjustments to bring out details.  Try setting this slider at about 30.
  • Try these settings on the Detail Tab in Adobe Camera Raw:
    • Amount Slider – 35 for pictures of kids
    • Radius – 1 to 1.2
    • Detail – I usually don’t change this one.
    • Masking – helps constrain the effects of sharpening to edges and maintains softness in areas that should be soft, like skin.  Try something around 60 for pictures of your kids.
