As an update to this morning’s post announcing the release of PSE 8 for Windows and Mac, Adobe is already offering sales for the purchase of the new products. Photoshop Elements 8 for Windows or Mac, or Premiere Elements 8 are available for for $79.99 each after a mail in rebate. Watching the PSE 7 prices last year, they never went much below $79.99 (I think I saw it available for either $59 or $69 just recently, so I figured the upgrade would be imminent.)
You can also purchase the Photoshop Elements/Premiere Elements bundle for $119.99.
Can’t wait to hear back from you guys! Who is upgrading? Use the post over to the right to tell us. If you do upgrade, come back to let us know what you think!

I just purchased Pse7 a few months ago so I don’t know if I am going to upgrade just yet. I think I will wait awhile. Right now I am learning to use Lightroom and as a photographer, I think this will be my program of choice for many functions.

I just got my pse6 set up with all my actions and so forth and I’m cruisin’ on it…now I have to decide to upgrade or not! Probably not for a while for me…I’ll probably spend my money on Lightroom or cs4 to get a better variety of editing features.

Sometimes it seems it is better to wait a little while and let the programmers work out the kinks, the price will go down, and when others are using the program there will be tutorials and actions available. They usually have a free 30 day trial, so I may give that a try, but most likely I’ll wait.

I am so new to this! I am just learning abut all the software available and found your great site and all the interesting actions! Will those actions you offer, also work in PSE 8? I am using the free trial and would love to know how to give it a try!
Hi Amie,
The actions will probably work in PSE 8, but I haven’t tested them all!

COSTCO has PSE 8.0 along with a 6 hr training DVD from Linda Sattgast of Scrappers Guide. Her DVD as a stand alone sells for what they are selling the bundled package for – $49.99 through the end of Nov.
