Photography Workshop – Dreaming Big with I Heart Faces

by Erin on November 11, 2010 · 9 comments

Photography Workshops are filling my November.  The first was the I Heart Faces workshop in Dallas last Friday.  Wow – that’s all I can say.

Angie and Amy of I Heart Faces went out of their way to make the day beautiful, inspirational and enjoyable.  The decorations, comfy chairs and great company transformed the workshop into a quasi-spa day with some serious education thrown in.  And the massages didn’t hurt either. . . .

Rachel, of American Mum and Savor Photography, started the day off with a fabulous intro to off camera lighting.  She has a great teaching style and really knows her stuff.  Her photography, needless to say, is stunning.  Her presentation led into a shopping trip hosted by Arlington Camera, right there in the living room.  They brought great discounts along with their products and did a great job of tailoring their display to the girly photog crowd.

And yes, I bought a flash.  So excited to try it out!

Rachel talked about what she sees as the two main types of photographers in the world – old men and young women.  She took this pic of us all.  Watch out world – here we come!

We had two shoots that afternoon.  One was a super stylized birthday party  The pix on this page are my favorites from before the kids showed up – I have so many more I want to post.  Amy and Angie did an amazing job setting up this party.  They coordinated custom clothes, printable party supplies and fabulous props.  What a treat to photograph!

This weekend, I’m attending a Raul Touzon photography workshop.  Something tells me not to expect decorations, massages or girl talk.  But I am super excited anyway.

Erin, I love the rays on that first shot! What settings were you using to capture that?

Hi, Erin,
The new look is fantastic, a great update.

How does one keep up with workshops that come into our area? I live in Dallas, and am sick that I missed the I Heart Faces workshop this month. I don’t see anything on their website about workshops.

Thank,

Karla
