Increase Contrast in Photoshop Elements

by Erin on November 10, 2008

Here is the method Adobe Photoshop Elements 7′s Smart Brush uses to increase contrast in an image.  You can use it in any version of Photoshop Elements.

Increase Contrast in Photoshop Elements

  • Select the area in which you would like to increase the contrast.
  • Add a Brightness/Contrast Adjustment Layer by clicking on the half-black half-white circle near the top of the layers palette.
  • Increase the Contrast slider to +55.
  • Hit Ok and adjust the layer’s opacity as needed.
