Hi Erin,
I only recently found your site- I think it is great!
I am looking for a tool in photoshop that aids composition.
It would be great if it was thumbwheel zoomable with options for golden section (with spirals), thirds etc.
Is there a way to do this or does such a thing exist?
Comment appreciated,
tks,
Bruce

Hi Bruce,

Lightroom has overlays for the Rule of Thirds, Golden Spiral, etc. Photoshop, however, doesn’t. It does have a grid that you can configure in the Preferences menu to follow the Rule of Thirds. However, it’s not very flexible.

Thanks for visiting!

Hi Nicki,

If you click on the link at the top of this page that says “Install Actions in Photoshop Elements,” you should find everything you need there.

Enjoy your actions!

Just recently discovered this site and love all of the actions here (both for purchase and Free!).
I just downloaded the Dropshadow action and tried it out. I must be doing something wrong because the size of my image changes when running this action yet it says that the new & improved version will not. What could I be doing wrong?
Thanks!

Hi Diane,

I’m sorry for the delay in responding. I’ve been out of town.

Are you using the orientation of the Drop Shadow action that matches to orientation of your image? Meaning that there is one action for vertical images and another for horizontal images.

Your image might change by a pixel or two on the shortest side when running these action, but your longer side should be the same.
