Ok, so not really to the wedding. It’s not like I received an invitation or anyting.
But I AM going to London to stand on the streets with all the other crazy royal watchers out there hoping for a glimpse of Kate and William as they drive by. I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!
You guys probably didn’t know this, but I have been a huge royal family fan ever since Charles and Diana got married. I have more books and dolls than my husband would ever agree to display in our home.
Those are some of my dolls – Princess Diana in the front, followed by Princess Sarah and Queen Elizabeth II.
I’m going over with one of my best friends from high school, who also loves royalty just as much as I do. We’ve always dreamed of going to England together when we retire. We want to be the old ladies at the museums who get in everyone’s way while they take one last look at the crown jewels. I never thought we’d get to go so soon.
If any of you are as nutty as I am about royalty, come check out my new blog, Royal Wedding Trip! I started writing it as a way to vent my excitement in the days leading up to the wedding, as well as to keep my friends and family posted on whether we really get to see Kate and William. It’s not a gossipy celebrity type blog – more of a “I-am-amazed-that-I-actually-get-to-go” type blog.
And for those of you who aren’t as nutty about the royal family as me, I’m sorry, but you’re probably going to hear a lot about it anyway. I just can’t restrain myself any longer. And maybe, just maybe, I’ll end up with an amazing picture or two to show off.

So cute & funny! I’m not a royal nut, but I had a blast in London & hope you do too. I stretched out a business trip layover into a weekend & it was wonderful (Scotland is lovely too if you have the time to get up there).
That is SO cool. I also got sucked into everything when Charles and Diana got married. I got to see her in London at an event which was AWESOME. I’ve also got a ton of books (that need to find new homes. Any ideas on that?). I haven’t followed them as closely as an adult, but am reading everything about the upcoming wedding. Have a GREAT GREAT trip!!!

I’m not sure if it’s still there, but inside Harrod’s department store was a “shrine” basically to Diana since Dodi Fayed is part of the owning family of Harrod’s. I haven’t been since about 2003, but try to find out and get a glimpse. Great food within Harrod’s as well!
