Hanukkah Photo Idea

by Erin on December 22, 2009

Yes, I know I’m late!  I love this photo taken at Hanukkah party we were invited to.  It’s a good example of “Zoom in close.  No, closer.  Really close.”

Rather than capturing faces or the big picture, this shot focuses on the small details that symbolize the meaning of the holiday.

Lens: 50mm f/1.4

Shutter speed: 1/100 second

Aperture: f/2.8

ISO: 1250

I like the idea on focusing on the details that might otherwise elude our attention.

BTW, they celebrate Hannukah in Texas? :-)

Haha! You know everything is bigger in Texas. I saw a menorah attached to the top of a car that was so big I’m surprised it didn’t blow the car over! I’m serious – that isn’t a joke.
