Just a quick post to point out a couple of new Texas Chicks features!
First, I created a new page to track discount codes on products that would be useful either for photographers or bloggers. If you know of other discount/coupon/promo codes for good products, let me know and I’ll share them with everyone. They should relate to photography or blogging/internet/computer resources, but I don’t need to have an advertising or affiliate relationship with them. For the record, I do have affiliate relationships with Nik Software and SmugMug, both of whom are listed on that discount code page.
I’m thinking of creating another section to support the products that Texas Chick readers are selling. Would you be interested in that? It would be similar to the discount code page, but would promote sales and promos at your Etsy stores, websites, etc.
Speaking of supporting readers, I added a new contest to the Current Contests widget on the right. Check out the sparkly barrettes that Little Butterbean is giving away. And don’t forget to email me when you are running your own contest that you want to publicize.
By the way, Tara of Cutest Little Baby Face doubled her number of subscribers by holding a contest recently. You can read her comments here on last week’s post about promoting contests.

I’ll be sure to update on any discounts I come across, I’m always looking for savings on photography stuff! I think that’s a great idea for readers to share their products…what a fabulous community that would be…I’m sure the talent is unlimited! I appreciate how you’re truly wanting to promote other people’s talents and expertise.

Thank you, w/o! I think it would be a great & supportive community too, just need to get the word out. One of the things that I like most about blogging is that it is so easy to make connections and work with other people you’d never meet otherwise. This is just one more way to do that.
