Apply Lipstick in Photoshop Elements

by Erin on November 7, 2008

This red wash might make for some creepy Halloween eyes or could spruce up some roses nicely.  And as lipstick, this effect does look natural at a very low opacity.

To Apply Lipstick in Photoshop Elements

  • Select the lips or other area that you want to redden
  • Add a Solid Color Adjustment Layer by clicking on the half-black half-white circle near the top of the Layers Palette
  • When the Pick a Solid Color box pops up, type ff0000 in the # field.  Hit Ok.
  • Change the Blending Mode of this layer to Soft Light and reduce the opacity as needed (usually a lot).
